ANDREIA FONTENETE LOURO is a research assistant at CHAM / NOVA FCSH (Lisbon). She is graduated in History (2016) and also holds a Master degree in Early Modern History (2019), both from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of NOVA University. Her master’s dissertation is entitled “An Aristocratic Wedding in 1537: Festivals, Display and Power in Vila Viçosa” explores how material culture could serve the purpose of representing and show off the personal power of a high status nobleman and the institutional power of a great aristocratic House.
Her research interests are especially related to the 16th century, including: biographical History; cultural History; History of mentalities; women’s History; social History; cultural practices; representation systems; and, at last, material culture and consumption.
